I thought Tony Blair was optimistic in his aproach to stop the under ground tunnels being used by Eygpt to Gaza.He mentions that it is a priority several times, and discusses how The president of the U.S is supporting him.It is hard to believe what is the truth in so many situations, the media can be so deceiving. the media can be biased depending on which area it is being broadcasted by, There are some documentaries that are factual. I am not really sure what the truth is, but it seems that lots of people want the war to end.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Robyn that Tony Blair's approach was optimistic and his confidence in the new U.S. administration shows he's willing to form a united front in order to stop the war. As far as media coverage on the topic goes, I don't think any of it is unbiased. It would be nearly impossible for journalists to accurately report every aspect of the fighting between Hamas and Israel so some editing is necessary. Whether the editing is due to deadlines, pressure from politicians, or simply from the desire to sell a front page story, a biased story is difficult to avoid. I think the key to forming a well educated opinion on the Hamas v. Israel topic, or any topic for that matter, is to not limit yourself to the same news avenues. I like to branch out to news websites from various countries in an attempt to get a broader perspective on topics, like BBCNews or Al Jazeera or even NPR here in the States.
