The video attached is a relatively long one, but it is the video to make up for the early dismissal this week. Please take some time to watch all of the video, and discuss some of the new ideas that Mozilla, the open source company, is looking to bring to the market. What would be the positive impact of these ideas? What companies or concepts should be worried about these developments? Do you see any downfall to these ideas? Be specific about the ideas from video as you reference them.

Mozilla wants to bring into the markets a quick and convenient way of accessing your web browser anywhere you go. With advance technology this can be easily done. By just a click, one can browse and search in the web whatever service they need at that moment.A major idea Mozilla wants to bring in the market is the idea of even deriving some metrics to analyse weather patterns in various regions. One can differentiate what area gets more rain than the other. Also the idea of instant shopping and dealing with an individual instead of dealing with the machine is discussed. Many sites have kept people online for immediate support and this gives a buyer or someone researching on the web more confidence. The only downfall with these access of vicinities is for those companies who are not able to advertise their business online. It is expensive to have your company being able to be accessed as efficiently as idicated by Mozilla. This might affect most of the small individually owned companies.- Annah
ReplyDeleteThat was crazy, everything seemed so easy and real. This seems like a program people will deffinately buy. It is fully of all information very similar to what the blackberry phone is like, touch screen, small and flat. It has GPS and local information like on map quest about special events when travelling. You can't get lost as long as you have one and it's powered.I especially like how it has an identity theft, you have to use your fingerprints which is better than a code. I would deffinately want idenity theft with it because as many advances it is probably expensive. I like the computer system at home, it is voice controlled mixed with vitual reality. This device would probably have many creators like;google, nintendo,at&t to quickly provide service. It is scarey to see a glimsp into the future like that, I think this well contribute to people relying on the internet instead of the oldfashion way of doing things. Not to mention the neck disorders that increase because so many people text, I saw an episode on 60 minutes that was discussing how kids are having neck and back problems due to texting, just a thought.
ReplyDeleteI would be reluctant to use something that knew so much about me and my information, but the security feature of having to use your thumbprint to unlock the screen seems like a really great idea. I was also a little skeptical of the idea of sending browsing history across the Internet. If it's that easy to pass information around I'm sure it would be just as easy for a virus to get a hold of it.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the positives, I think it's amazing how incredibly convenient the system is. I don't think people would even need to leave the house if it were that easy to video conference with friends or coworkers. I especially like the idea of being able to access what I guess could be considered bookmarks or your personal calenders from several devices, whether it be a phone or a living room wall.
Whenever this type of technology does become available I think it will be the final blow to newspapers (if they're still around at that point). There would be even less need to have a paper copy of the news if you can access information from so many different places.
