Can Facebook be Everything for Everybody?

The recent new look Facebook page has come under fire by many. It has been interesting to watch Facebook try to be responsive to its users demands. It brings me to think though whether Facebook has any core principals or whether it will choose the being everything to everybody model that often fatigues an organization. If you could be the CEO of Facebook, what would your core principals be?

  1. In the time that I have been using facebook the the home page has changed multiple times and everyone complains no matter what. The result is that people are just used to the way it used to look and operate. Eventually all the hype calms down and everyone adapts.

However, there is a lot more content posted on news feeds, for example tons of wall posts end up on my news feed and it almost feels like eavesdropping.

Facebook cannot please everyone, no one can. Someone will always be upset. the only way to remedy that situation would be to make it completely customizable....but then what place does facebook have as a cooperation?

  2. I agree with Cortney, that you can't please everyone. I personally don't have a facebook but I know people that do. They all have the same comment that it is always changing. My friends also have a myspace account, which I feel is similar. I'm not comfortable with people seeing any informtion about me.
